I love sundials. I used to go the beach and draw a circle in the sand. I stuck a stick in the middle and always knew approximately what time it was without looking at a watch or a clock.

I feel grifted by the clock. Right now it is telling me that it is 5:15 PM but my BODY is telling me it is only supposed to be 4:15 PM.
I wake up normally and naturally at 6:00 AM but my clock tells me it is now 7:00 AM instead.

And the dogs! Man. Are they confused. Why is mommy getting up an hour earlier every day? How could this be? Do we get our peanut butter morning treat earlier now? Do we get to go outside an hour earlier now? Does mommy not get to have her hour of quiet prayer time anymore?
NO!!! The day has begun! The hour is upon us! Mommy is up and we need mommy NOW! (Meanwhile…Daddy is asking me why I am getting up so early!) Daddy is asking me this because HE doesn't do all of the things I do when I get up like push the button to turn on the coffee. Oh yeah. I can set the timer to automatically turn on if I could only figure out how. Maybe I should look that up. If ONLY I had an extra hour to figure this out.
As for me, I need my quite prayer time hour. Without the dogs. Without Daddy questioning why I am up so early. Without "I want my peanut butter NOW" face staring at me an entire hour earlier than usual.
I am tired. An entire hour was stolen from me. Like a thief in the night.
Why? Because it is 7:00 AM already and NOT 6:00 AM and it's DARK OUTSIDE. And I hate this.
Oh, sure. NOW we are back to a 24 hour day. But on DST day? We only got 23 hours. Seriously, this is not fair. Oh sure. We get it back in the Fall. But do we get interest on it? No.
Daylight Savings Time is a scam. For all of you who just love it, well then good for you. I am just tired and frustrated and my entire metabolism is off balance. AND, the older you get every single hour makes a huge difference.
I even have to eat dinner an hour earlier now in order to keep my usual (hungry) dinner time. So what happens? I eat later. I'm eating listening to The Ingraham Angle instead of Bret Baier. And then I have to go bed earlier than my normal bedtime hour and it takes me weeks (if not months) to adjust my circadian rhythm to this new time schedule.
STANDARD TIME IS THE TIME. Even Arizona knows this.
Please. Just stop it already.
One hour makes a huge difference.
