I care.
The time is always NOW. Not later. The time is NOW. Always and infinitely. Just like tomorrow never comes.
So many songs about time but Time In A Bottle is my favorite. What is your favorite? Please subscribe to my Substack and tell me.
In any event, today I have an extra hour to think about all of these things because last night I was gifted an extra hour at 2 AM. I often wake up during the night at fairly regular times for one reason or another. Either the dogs want to go out or a hot flash comes on or nature calls. Last night I woke up, picked up my phone and the time was 1:57 AM. I just stared at it for 3 minutes and watched in amazement as the clock automatically turned back to 1 AM. No wonder why everyone was so concerned about what would happen on Y2K. What if we had all been set back to the Year 0000? (Don't worry. We are about to find out soon enough at the rate we are going.)
This is so weird. I can't believe the year 2000 was only 22 years ago. It feels like it was 200 years ago to me. So much has happened and changed since that time in my life and in our world. Ironically it also feels like it happened so fast! (I also can't believe that yesterday at this exact same time it was an hour later than it is right now!)

As usual, I have digressed. Digression is in my genes.
People moan and groan twice a year about the changing of the clocks. We don't need Daylight Savings Time anymore. Do we? Seriously?
Here's a very interesting link containing everything you may want to know about the bi-annual changing of the clocks.

Did you know?
"The Sunshine Protection Act" it's called. By all means we must protect the sunshine!!! I'm not exactly sure what this means. Can someone enlighten me? Is this bill meant to keep DST all year long or keep Standard Time all year long?
I don't like Daylight Savings Time because that's when we LOSE an hour. Why must we have yet another thing to permanently lose? It wreaks havoc on the heart. I would much rather have it be dark earlier in the morning and keep the extra hour.

Because why? Because…winter has shorter daylight hours anyway.
Why? Because…it's winter! It's not going to stay light outside until 8 o'clock at night in the winter with a single hour's difference. People are whining because "OMG. It's going to get dark at 4:30 in the afternoon now!"
Guess what? That's because it's getting dark only ONE hour earlier than 5:30 in the afternoon (or thereabouts) because we didn't stay on DST all year. Why?
Because winter has shorter daylight hours. Because winter is gonna winter.
Oh the humanity!
As for me, I have always enjoyed the early darkness. I am so happy to be able to put on my PJs and cozy up with a good book in front of the fireplace.

Let's review:
(I am assuming these are Standard Times but, really, what difference does it make? The only difference would be ONE SINGLE HOUR.)
And for all of you winter whiners just be thankful you don't live in the Arctic.
So…I say…if I could put time in a bottle it would be Standard Time.
All of our pets agree.
