I started my Twitter account in 2010 but I never became entrenched in it until Trump came on the scene. It took me quite a while to even figure out how it worked. I used to go to my profile page and wonder why nobody ever said anything. ("Okay, Boomer!") Well. That's the truth. I finally discovered the "feed." And then I actually got up to over 18,000 followers! Every follower was a feather in my Twitter cap and sent a thrill up my leg. Especially the blue check followers!
Over the years I got to know so many of you. I also got to really like so many of you. There are so very many of you that I often find it extremely difficult to drag myself away from all of your compelling Tweets. I am a morning Tweeter. I am an afternoon Tweeter. I am also, sometimes, a night Tweeter which makes me think about Allison Steele, The Nightbird. Anyone remember her?

I get all of my news from you guys. I get laughs. I learn stuff. I feel your pain or share your joys. But all of this Tweeting has its drawbacks. It keeps me distracted from doing my own writing and this is a daily battle.
So let's begin with my daily ritual. As an unemployed and unhappily aging senior I am without fail sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee at approximately 6:30 every morning smoking like a chimney and consumed with anxiety. The first thing I do (although I am not a Catholic) is take the rosary my sister sent me and recite the Apostle's Creed and the Our Father. I then read the daily passage in my God Calling devotional. Then onto my emails and other folks' Substacks. There are so many great Substacks I could read them all day long. Then I check my lottery numbers because you've got to be in it to win it but really, considering the state of world affairs, what's the point? Time for Twitter.
#1
JACK POSOBIEC
I read Jack Posobiec first. Why? Because Jack has his fingers in many delicious pies and is always on point. If something is happening, Jack is immediately on top of it and talks knowledgeably about it. Jack is also a devout Catholic who makes no bones about his faith. He is also seemingly everywhere. Jack supports and is the wind beneath the wings of his family, his friends, My Pillow and Wawa. He is interesting, informative and often funny. Jack is proud to be Polish and so am I. Most importantly, Jack is kind.

CATTURD
Then I go to Catturd's page. Catturd has amazingly branded himself as the most unique cat in the Twitterverse. How can anyone possibly not like Catturd? He is witty, super smart and he says what most of us are thinking. He doesn't do a lot of tweeting because he's busy taking care of the Catturd Ranch and his beautiful dogs who have bred a passel of majestic pups. Catturd also does daily podcasts with Jewels that are well worth a listen. And…he is quite the author. If you haven't read Rabbitskin you need to get yourself a copy right now. I couldn't put it down. Catturd is also very kind.

KURT SCHLICHTER
I save Kurt Schlichter for my final morning read because Kurt has an awful lot to say. I honestly don't know how he does it but he is astoundingly prolific and Tweets away with his pedal to the metal as well as writing columns and books! And he's also a lawyer. It takes me quite a while to wade through all of his pithiness and interesting and often amusing comments. I also love how much he loves his wife and their two precious dogs, Barkey and Bitey. Kurt is kind, too. Especially once you get to know him.
So…these are my top three favorite follows. I have many more recommendations to come. If you are new to Twitter, try these three first. If you are old to Twitter then you are most likely very familiar with them already.
Happy Tweeting!
